Lay's Crowdsourced Potato-Chip Finalists: Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken & Waffles, Sriracha 'Do Us a Flavor' contest winds down By David Kiefaber

Lay's "Do Us a Flavor" Facebook contest has come to an end, and the potato-chip brand is now market-testing three finalists: Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken & Waffles, and Sriracha hot sauce. They were selected from more than 3 million submissions, so I guess the judges knew what they were doing. But chicken and waffles is going to be tough to replicate as a potato chip. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Then again, maybe we all dodged a bullet. Who knows what the 4chan troll account suggestions were. This is Frito-Lay's first time crowdsourcing a chip flavor in the U.S., although it did something similar with its Walkers crisps brand in the U.K. in 2008. The winner there was the impressive-soundingBuilder's Breakfast, which tasted like bacon, sausage and eggs. Sadly for humanity, that flavor has since been discontinued.
